Reel Fun fishing has been run by Steve Cole since he set up shop in 2002. Located a short distance from the Marina and Bristol Channel, Portishead it is perfectly placed for those fishing in the area. With access to the M5 junction only minutes away anglers can pick up competitively priced tackle and clothing. Live bait is available to purchase but we do advise you ring ahead to order live bait to ensure we keep it back for you as it sells so quickly. We do try to get more in when running low but this is not always possible.

The Team 

Steve Cole has been in the tackle industry for over 20 years having followed in his fathers footsteps, who started with a pet and tackle shop in Avonmouth. Steve has extensive boat and shore fishing knowledge having fished these waters, and those further afield, for many years. He is also an experienced coarse fishing angler who, like all of our staff, is more than happy to share his knowledge with customers.

Steve Ace joined us in June 2020. The name “Acey” is synonymous within the angling fraternity and he is probably one of the most experienced anglers fishing the Bristol channel, he has a vast knowledge of the area and of fishing it, with over 35 years in the retail angling trade his product knowledge is huge. He is a well-respected angler. He will willingly offer his experience to other anglers.

Ben Tidcombe joined us in 2021 and his forte is coarse although he’s also a dab hand at Sea fishing. Ben also is an experienced mini species expert, living a short distance from the Marina where he has developed his marina fishing skills.

John Harris joined us in 2022 after spending over a decade working at the lakes of Chew Valley, Blagdon and Barrow tanks. John is a fly angler at heart, having become Fisheries & Recreations Manager at Bristol Water Fisheries before joining the team at Reel Fun Fishing and previously representing England at Youth level in International Fly fishing.

John is also an experienced shore angler having spent almost 20 years beach fishing both locally and further afield, catching many species to specimen size from the shore including several double figure cod.
